QUIP interest free loans for UW Partners – an industry first in Direct Selling & sold response to Covid-19
Looking back on the Company’s solid leadership in their early response to the corona virus, it’s easy to feel proud to be a UW Partner. Back on the 21st April, Utility Warehouse announced their intention to offer Partners QUIP interest free loans to make up for their lost QUIP income. Specifically, this UW Partner benefit was made available to UW Partners who were reliant on their monthly (QUIP) customer gathering commission, with a qualification set at an average of £500 per month. This means than a UW Partner whose monthly QUIP payments had been averaging £500 (independent of their residual income) can apply for 80% of their historic average QUIP for the months of May and June.
Along with the company’s fast transition to remote working, QUIP interest free loans are a further example of the company’s solid covid-19 response and testament of how well Utility Warehouse look after their Partners.
Probably a first in Direct Selling history
By it’s very nature, Direct Selling is often self-employed and commission only. That is 100% the case for UW Partners. They are joining UW as Authorised Partners and as such are self-employed. It’s true of course that the times we are in are unprecedented, but it’s also true to say that never before has a Direct Sales Company responded to crisis in the way UW has done over the last two months. They have taken the initiative to look after their Partners by introducing what is effectively a ‘furlough scheme’ and have done so despite the fact that UW Partners are not employees!
Having spoken with a great many distributors from other well known UK direct selling companies, we cannot find another single example of such a positive Covid-19 response. Well done Utility Warehouse for leading the field at a time of national crisis and for being willing to look out for your Partners.
