Utility Warehouse setting up UW Foundation to raise funds for environmental projects & to support charities
As a people business, Utility Warehouse and ‘Team Purple’ have always been very much involved with charitable fundraising and have raised valuable funds for a great many charities. These have included Mind and Macmillan Cancer Support, with every pound raised by staff and UW Partners being matched with a pound direct from the company.
In 2020. Utility Warehouse is stepping their charitable commitment up a gear with the setting up of the UW Foundation. Moving forward, the UW Foundation will be the hub of the company’s charitable efforts, with a focus on environmental projects and disadvantaged groups.
On the environmental side, the UW Foundation has pledged to plant 100,000 trees each year, which will ‘save’ 20,000 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide. This is equivalent to the carbon dioxide used by 2,000 homes or of brewing 282 million cups of tea.
