London, 15 November 2023 – In a move indicative of its commitment to revolutionize customer interactions, Utility Warehouse (UW) has appointed Rob Harris as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). This strategic decision aligns with UW’s projection to accommodate an extra million customers in the medium term, reflecting the company’s dedication to providing unparalleled service.

Rob Harris, boasting a wealth of experience across the energy and finance sectors, brings his expertise to UW at a crucial juncture. Formerly at the helm of the commercial and domestic engineering operations for British Gas, Harris oversaw a staggering 10 million in-home visits and managed an annual budget of £1.5 billion. His role as VP at British Gas involved spearheading the smart energy transition within the Centrica group.

Before his move into the energy sector, Harris carved a distinguished career at Barclays, culminating in his position as Managing Director of Mortgages. In this capacity, he played a pivotal role in leading regulated insurance and mortgage sales teams for UK retail and private banking customers, contributing significantly to the retention and growth of a substantial lending portfolio.

As COO at UW, Rob Harris will focus on enhancing operational efficiency. This move comes at a pivotal time for UW as it approaches the significant milestone of serving one million customers.
